Adding your Ernie AI chatbot to a Squarespace website is straightforward and requires no coding experience. Follow the steps below to get your chatbot live on your site in minutes.
Before you start
Have your embed code ready.
Plan requirement: Code Injection and JavaScript support require Business, Commerce (Basic/Advanced), or higher.
Personal or lower plans restrict
<script>tags.
Start with your homepage.
Option A: Site-wide
Log in → open website.
Go to Settings → Advanced → Code Injection.
Paste code in Footer field.
Click Save → Publish.
Verify chatbot across pages.
Option B: Specific page
Go to Pages → Select page → ⚙ (gear) → Advanced.
Paste code under Page Footer Code Injection.
Save → Publish → test page.
Troubleshooting
Code won’t save → upgrade plan.
Chatbot only on one page → use site-wide injection.
Always republish after edits.
